The tool uses a sophisticated mapping engine to accurately place each JSON field into the correct cell. Key mappings include:
- GSTR-3B: sup_details.osup_det, sup_details.osup_zero, eco_dtls, inter_sup, itc_elg, intr_ltfee, taxpayble, etc.
- GSTR-1: b2b, b2cs, cdnr, hsn sections with all invoice-level details.
- GSTR-2A: b2b, cdn, tcs sections with detailed invoice and note information.
All mappings are fully documented and can be extended to support future JSON schema changes.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What types of JSON files can I merge using this tool?
You can merge GSTR-3B, GSTR-1, or GSTR-2A JSON files downloaded from the GST portal. The tool automatically detects the return type based on your selection.
2. Do all JSON files need to be for the same GSTIN?
Yes, the tool expects files from the same GSTIN. If different GSTINs are detected, you will receive an error message.
3. How does the tool handle missing months or fields?
Missing fields are filled with zero in the output. If a month is missing, it will not appear in the consolidated report.
4. Will the original data in my JSON files be changed?
No. Your uploaded files are never modified. The tool only creates a new merged Excel file, keeping all original data intact.
5. What happens if some fields exist in one file but not in others?
The tool creates a combined structure that includes all detected fields. If a field is missing in a particular file, the corresponding cells in the merged output will be blank or zero.
6. Is this tool suitable for large or professional datasets?
Yes. The tool is built for real-world business data, including multi-sheet files and large datasets. Still, users should always review the merged output before using it for reporting or compliance purposes.
